I own fur, but I did not buy it. It was my mothers, and I think it's beautiful. While I would never buy fur because I am unsure of the practices of how it is obtained, I see no problem with wearing fur that has been around for a while. Because honestly, where is it going to go? Should I let it sit in the back of the closet for all eternity? Give it a proper burial?
2. Do you think that animals have rights? Yes, I definitely think animals have rights. However, a majority of people do not think that, and the other large opponent to that is PETA who are crazy and nobody takes them seriously. Until there is a group that does not use scare tactics and embarrassment as their means of spreading their message, I don't think much will change in the way of animal rights. That said, I do not think animals are as dumb as most humans think they are. It's a shame that they are not as respected as the human race is, simply because they don't communicate verbally, in the same way as we do.
3. Do you think that animals are for us to wear? I think at one point yes, animals were for us to wear, but because of the advances in technology, animal fur should take a backseat to more organic, and man-made materials.

Domesticated animals, since they have become our friends, or family, really, it would be much harder to justify the use of their fur. I have watched videos from Peta's website and I am so angry at the fact that people could still wear fur!
I will never ever wear fur! I also do not support the Ringling Brothers circus, I am not sure if you have seen the videos of what the trainers did to the elephants back stage. But it is very sad! So from here on out, I will never ever wear fur or take my children to the Ringling Brothers Circus when I do have kids.

I wouldn't but I certainly would take action if there were laws, about killing animals humanely, and their living conditions better. Oh and just a message out there, all the people who said they were against fur, and then say they wouldn't vote to outlaw it are hypocrites, and clearly trying to be PC.

I think the way it's gone about is wrong.

Yes, furs are warm, fashionable, and natural.

1. Where do you stand on fur?
I think the trading of fur and the buying of fur has a long, steep history. It was once an necessity when hunters would hunt animals for their fur in order to stay warm in harsh, northern climates. They'd shoot the animal but use every bit of it for eating or for clothing. This was seen as acceptable, and first seen in the world by the homo sapiens (people who first began to live in cold climates).
However now it is much different, my stand on it is that it can be wrong.

I do, however I am not a vegetarian and do not believe eating meat is wrong.

Animals were previously used for substitence, and yes to wear or keep warm the northerners.

We use this website in my marketing research class, and it is very helpful, I think they offer a free trial, but after that you have to pay for it... this seems like a simple survey, but you could have set up your questions in different formats ( not just open ended questions), the website sets up a link for you and you could have copied and pasted it to your blog, it then directs the patrons to your survey… you can close the survey anytime you want and you can also analyze your results! P.S i would highly suggest people look up on the cruelty involved in the fur trade.
if you buy it, you're responsible for the animals death.
the less people buy it, the less animals are caught and killed.
it's as simple as that.
vegetarians save 90 animals a year.
it's a similar thing with fur.
if you wear it, you're killing animals lives.

I think it's beautiful, a little over the top, tastefully morbid, and controversial. Only worth buying under certain conditions.

Yes.

Yes (and eat). However, I do not support the brutality and the hunting practices excised to obtain fur. There are humane, ethical ways to obtain fur, if those techniques were practiced, I would support furriers/wearing fur.

Not at all since they are domesticated (e.g., we don't eat them/use them as a resource) and their fur is not aesthetically pleasing in the way a bear's fur would be.

I can't afford it but when I can I would only buy from furriers that are humane, ethical, and practicing responsible hunting.

N/A - but I would, yes.

Depends on the animal being used. It requires many chinchillas to make a chinchilla fur coat.

Yes, so it's important (just like in purchasing diamonds or other jewels - which should be blood or conflict free) that you seek out a retailer/furrier that only buys from responsible, ethical hunters.

Yes. I don't think the fur coat is wrong but how it is obtained. That is where legislature should be focused.
